Lindsay Nakamura, a dietitian and program specialist with the Hawai'i Department of Education's School Food Services Branch, earned her master's degree in dietetics from Washington State University. An internship in Auburn, WA, solidified her passion for school food service, leading her back to Hawai'i where she now oversees menu creation for 258 schools serving over 100,000 students. Her responsibilities include managing special dietary needs, implementing wellness initiatives, and ensuring the use of locally sourced products.
