Steamed Brown Rice

One 1/2-cup serving provides

Whole Grain: 1 serving

Ingredients

2 gal 1 qt Water 

1 gal Brown rice, long grain

4 tsp Table salt  

 

 

Method

  1.  Bring the water to a boil in a large pot. 

  2. For stovetop cooking, add the rice and salt to the boiling water, stir a few times to separate the rice grains, cover the pot, and simmer over low heat until the rice is fully cooked and has absorbed all of the water, 40 to 50 minutes.
