Kristen Rowe joined the USDA’s Food & Nutrition Service (FNS), Child Nutrition Programs in 2019, and she is currently serving as branch chief for Nutrition Training and Operational Support (NTOS). Before joining FNS, she served at DC Public Schools as food and nutrition services compliance specialist and oversaw the execution of all USDA federally funded nutrition programs including the School Breakfast Program, the National School Lunch Program, Afterschool Snack, Child and Adult Care Food Program, the Summer Food Service Program, and the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. She also served as manager of health services at DC Public Schools and oversaw all health and wellness initiatives, including the Local Wellness Policy for 115 schools in the district. Kristen received her undergraduate and master’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas and completed her dietetic internship at Oklahoma University Health Science Center. She has been a practicing Registered Dietitian since 2008 and is currently participating in the FNS Leadership Institute.
