Jeremy West, SNS is director of operations with the Urban School Food Alliance, a nonprofit member organization formed to address the unique needs of the nation's largest school districts. Jeremy came to the school food industry in 2006 after spending several years in the healthcare industry seeing, as he puts it, “the other end of life”. Compelled to effect nutritional change in our youngest generations, Jeremy made the leap into school food service in 2006 and has served as an assistant director for Colorado Springs School District 11, director of operations at Jeffco Public Schools (Golden, CO), and as director of nutrition services for Greeley District 6 (Colorado), where he and his team garnered national attention from The New York Times, ABC’s Nightline news program and were recognized as the “2016 K-12 Innovators of the Year” by Food Management Magazine. Jeremy is a culinary graduate and holds a BS in organizational leadership. He is past president of both the Colorado Dietary Manager's Association and the Colorado School Nutrition Association, past chairman of the Colorado Farm to School Taskforce, and he has served the School Nutrition Association on numerous committees and task forces.
