Jason Tepper is executive chef at Alexandria City Public Schools in Virginia. He joined the school nutrition team to help improve the food served at school and address nutrition insecurity in his community. In his job, he focuses on promoting sustainable, plant-forward food while showing students how food choices affect health and the planet. Doing what he loves for the public school system makes for an exciting day and an even more fulfilling career. Prior to joining school nutrition, Chef Tepper worked as vice president of culinary/executive chef for JavaWorks, Bistro in the Park and Café Blu and as executive chef for Compass Group USA.
