Cathy Powers, MS, RD, LD, is a founding partner in Culinary Nutrition Associates, LLC, chair of The Culinary Institute of America’s Healthy Kids Collaborative, and a seasoned trainer. She is co-author of the textbook, Essentials of Nutrition for Chefs, an IACP 2011 cookbook winner. She also is the co-author of Portion Photos of Popular Foods and Recipe Nutrient Analysis. Cathy is a trainer with the Institute of Child Nutrition and was project manager for their award-winning training program, Cooks for Kids, and  for the revision of their online course, Culinary Techniques for Healthy School Meals. Cathy spent nearly 15 years at The Culinary Institute of America where she was instrumental in developing the college’s cutting-edge nutrition program. Cathy is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and in 2004, was honored with their prestigious Medallion Award. Cathy currently serves on the advisory board at Indiana University of Pennsylvania's Department of Food and Nutrition and was recognized by them as an Alumni Ambassador in 1989.
